2 Indianapolis Children Find Bodies of Mother, Boyfriend

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis police say two children discovered the bodies of their mother and her boyfriend following an apparent murder-suicide.

Police say the 6-year-old and an 11-year-old found the bodies of their mother, Tamika Jones-Fleming, and her boyfriend, Thomas Emery, about 7 a.m. Monday in a home on the city's east side.

Homicide detectives say the pair had been arguing about 11 p.m. Sunday in the home before the fatal shootings occurred in what police believe was a murder-suicide.

The Indianapolis Star reports that Emery was the father of the younger child.

Jones-Fleming's aunt, Sheryll Washington, says “now you've got two little ones that have to deal with the fact that their mother was killed.”
