FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County residents are in for some doggone good chili.

The 3rd Annual Doggone Best Chili Challenge is Saturday, Sept. 24 at Harley-Davidson of Fort Wayne, 6315 Illinois Road, according to the Allen County SPCA.

In the first two years of the chili cook off, more than $22,000 was raised for the Allen County SPCA. The competition has six different divisions — CASI Chili, vegetarian chili, restaurant/commercial chili, biker (home-style) chili, showmanship and people’s choice.

Some teams go all out by decorating their booths with a theme, dressing in costumes and putting on a show.

There will also be music, a silent auction and adoptable dogs.

All proceeds go to the Allen County SPCA. It is $5 for general admission and free admission for children under 10.
