5-year-old Dies in Hospital after Negligent Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Police are investigating the death of a 5-year-old girl who died Friday night in Fort Wayne.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, Fort Wayne Police were called to reports of a shooting at 10 p.m. on the 1500 bock of W. Fourth St.

There, they found the girl critically shot in the face. They took her to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The negligent discharge of a gun was the determined cause of death. All occupants of the home were taken into questioning.

The death is being treated as a homicide and remains under investigation.
