Vice-President Mike Pence to attend Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (NETWORK INDIANA) – The VP will be the VIP at IMS on 5/28.

Translation: Vice-President Mike Pence plans to attend the Indianapolis 500 Sunday, reports the Indianapolis Star.

Pence plans on flying in this weekend. That makes two weekends in a row back home for the former governor, who was here last weekend for the Notre Dame commencement.

It was unclear whether Pence would have any role in the 500 ceremonies.

No drivers have said whether they plan to walk out (not likely-and that’s tongue-in-cheek, in case you didn’t get that).

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has not yet discussed security, but you can expect it to be more stringent with the VP as a guest.
