7 Busted in Undercover Drug Operation in S. Indiana

NORTH VERNON, Ind. (AP): Indiana State Police say a 10-month undercover operation with drug purchases has resulted in heroin-dealing charges against six southern Indiana residents.

Police said Thursday that those arrested this week included three Jennings County residents already in jail or in prison on unrelated charges: 31-year-old Tony Pearson and 29-year-old Travis Clark each face three counts of dealing heroin, and  34-year-old Margo Garris faces one count.

Police say another previously incarcerated man, 40-year-old Edward “Jesse'' Swindall of Seymour, faces two counts. Twenty-three-year-old Suzan Pettit of Columbus also faces three counts and 29-year-old Justin Gribbins of Columbus faces a single count.

A seventh person, 29-year-old Brandi Harrison of North Vernon, has been charged with one count of dealing marijuana.

It wasn't clear if the defendants have attorneys representing them on the new charges.
