ALLEN COUNTY, Ind (WOWO): More than $870,000 has been appropriated for local nonprofits. The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne announced the grants today. 

The money is from the Clarke Endowment and the Community Grantmaking Fund.  Turnstone Center for Children and Adults with Disabilities received $50,000 for those with physical and neurological disabilities.

The Allen County Education partnership will receive $35,000 for their early elementary age reading program. The Early Childhood Alliance was given $40,000 for early childhood education programs and the Arts United of Fort Wayne and the Embassy Theatre were both awarded a $25,000 grant.
