FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — Gas prices are up in Fort Wayne but may soon drop.

The average price rose 7.5 cents to $3.17 per gallon, while Ohio sits at $3.21 and Michigan leads at $3.34.

Nationwide, gas averages $3.12, and diesel is $3.65.

Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says prices should fall soon now that BP’s Whiting, Indiana refinery is back online after storm damage shut it down weeks ago.

That outage had put upward pressure on Midwest gas prices.
