Police Investigate Discovery of Severely Burned Man

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are investigating the discovery of a severely burned man, after receiving a call about a “man down,” on the city’s south side.

They got the call around 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon to Winter Street near South Anthony Boulevard.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they found the man suffering from severe burns. They also smelled a heavy scent of gasoline.

Police were able to retrace the man's path back to an address on Lillie Street, near Oxford Street, where they found a pile of burning clothes.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, it was later discovered 38% of his body was covered in severe burns. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition and downgraded to critical condition.

As or right now police have no suspects and no motive.
