Use Caution and Stop at Snow Packed Traffic Signals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Leaders with the City of Fort Wayne issued the following release about using extra caution when approaching snow packed traffic signals:

Crews from Traffic and Signal Operations are continuing to work on clearing snow out of traffic signals. The thick, wet snow is covering signal lights, making it difficult to tell what color is illuminated on the signal. The covered signals are affecting southbound traffic.  Motorists should treat these intersections as a four way stop and should not proceed through the intersection until they have a clear path to cross.

City plow trucks remain in residential neighborhoods today and are hoping to get through each neighborhood by late this afternoon. If possible, residents are urged to not park in the street so trucks can get as close to the curb as possible.

Reminder: Change to this week’s garbage/recycling collection:

Wednesday collection will be Thursday

Thursday collection will be Friday

Friday collection will be Saturday
