FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A former employee of National College in Fort Wayne has filed a lawsuit against the school claiming racial discrimination.

Cheryl Tatum, according to the Journal-Gazette, is white and says she was fired in favor of a lesser qualified black employee.

The case was filed last week after an investigation by the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission determined there was probable cause.

According to court documents, Tatum received no “write-ups” and was offered two promotions and commended. Her boss was black and she claims he replaced white employees with black workers. She claims the college said their were going a different direction and another white employee was let go the same day.

She filed her charge of discrimination, National officials alleged Tatum was fired for having poor results and a negative attitude. These were allegations Tatum said were never conveyed to her, according to court documents.

The institution is located on North Clinton St.
