STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Around 6:30 Sunday night, police in Steuben received a 911 call in reference to a personal injury crash that occurred at the intersection of CR 500 S and CR 600 W located northwest of Hudson in Steuben County. 28-year-old Jason Schmidt failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of 600 W and 500 S and his vehicle was struck by 61-year-old Thomas Hamilton's truck. Schmidt was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Schmidt suffered head injuries and was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Hamilton complained of pain to his back and stomach, and was also taken to the hospital. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor; the crash remains under investigation.
