Slow Construction Delays Indiana Hospital Opening

ANGOLA, Ind. (AP): Construction delays will mean a northeastern Indiana hospital won't be moving into its new facility until several weeks later than planned.

Officials at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola say the opening of the new hospital has been rescheduled for Dec. 8.

Hospital president Greg Burns says construction progress hasn't kept up with a schedule to allow for the hospital to open as planned in October. The Herald Republican reports a public open house and ribbon cutting ceremony is being planned for Nov. 15.

Hospital officials first announced plans in early 2011 for the new $42 million facility in the city about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne.
