FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A suspect in the Eby Avenue shooting will appear in court Wednesday

24-year-old Charles Benson is charged with murder and possession of a fire arm. When he appeared in court last week, his attorneys made a push for a speedy trial.

At the time, police say the shooting on city street stemmed from accusations of stolen drugs and money.

Late in the evening, Sept 8, 26-year old John Holman was fatally wounded in a barrage of gunfire.

Another man in that alleged crime, 25-year old Marcus Lindsey is held for assisting a criminal. He's scheduled for a October 1 hearing.
