UPDATE: Man Killed in Monday Morning Crash, Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Coroner has identified the man killed in a crash early Monday morning on Vance Avenue and Coliseum Boulevard.


Authorities say 25-year-old Najee Slade of Goshen, died on the scene of the crash that happened just after 1:30 a.m. Police say that's he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole.Witnesses on the scene told police the victim was driving recklessly before the crash and officers believe that speed may have been a factor.


Slade was not wearing a seat-belt and was pinned inside the vehicle. He is the 22nd traffic fatality in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.


The crash remains under investigation. Meanwhile, a passenger in the vehicle was also transported to a local hospital in critical conduction.
