Tips to Avoid Holiday Scams

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): The Holiday Season is filled with plenty of good will, but there's also plenty of bad intention.

That's sparked Salin Bank to offer some ways to avoid a would be Grinches this Christmas.

Monitor your account and if you noticed anything that doesn't seem right, notify your bank.

Don't carry lots of cash. Cash is almost impossible to replace or track once its gone. Credit cards, debit cards and even gift cards have consumer protection attached.

Closer to home, make sure your internet connection is secure, that is password protected and watch out for phishing emails.

It's easy to be conned into click into fraud. If you are shopping online, make sure the site is reputable and uses secure technology. If you aren't sure investigate a little more or shop somewhere else.
