FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health’s “Flu Bug” Campaign recently received a marketing award.

According to a press release, the flu vaccination media campaign won a gold award at the 2015 Advertising Honors hosted by the American Advertising Federation of Fort Wayne.

The goal of the 2014-15 flu vaccination campaign was to raise awareness and increase overall seasonal flu vaccination coverage rates in Allen County.

The media campaign featured images of “flu bugs” with taglines such as “There’s nothing cute about him” and “It only looks harmless.” The ads ran on billboards, transit and online spaces from October through December.
