FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): Some brave and fit men and women are embark on a 140 mile journey…by foot.

20 active duty members of the military in Indiana and nationwide will be running 140 miles to honor every Indiana service member that died during the campaigns in the Middle East since 9/11. Each mile will be dedicated to each Indiana hero and his or her family. 

The Run for the Fallen starts Friday morning at 7:30 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The route will include start in Fort Wayne and will run through cities south including Decatur, Portland, and Muncie before ending Sunday at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Indianapolis.
