Officials Drain Roush and Salamonie Dams

HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Roush and Salamonie Dams are being drained.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was called to drain the dams after high water levels from last week's flooding. All of the water that is released from the Roush, Salamonie and Mississinewa Reservoirs will flow downstream.

21Alive reports water levels of the Roush Dam in Huntington County came within six inches of an all-time high.

Two canoeists were recently rescued at the Fortks of the Wabash River near U.S. 24 and State Road 9 due to rough waters.
