Pence Announces New Local Finance Chief, Others

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Gov. Mike Pence has named a leader for the state's local government agency and filled a handful of other positions in his administration.

Pence said Thursday that Courtney Schaafsma will lead the Department of Local Government Finance. Schaafsma has been the department's budget director for the past three years.

He also announced the appointment of Gabe Paul as the administrative law judge for the State Employees' Appeals Commission. Paul is a lawyer for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

Pence also reappointed Linda Hamilton as chairwoman of the state Workers Compensation Board. He also reappointed Diane Parsons, Daniel Foote, Gerald Edgar and Krysten Lester-LeFavour to four-year terms on the board.
