Fire Closes Lake County Government Building

CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) _ A small fire has forced the closure of a building at the Lake County Government Center in northwestern Indiana.

Lake County Commission President Michael Repay told the Post-Tribune that the fire Tuesday morning forced the evacuation of the building in Crown Point so workers can clean up the damage and air the structure out.

The county courts and clerk's office remained open in a separate building in Crown Point, about 12 miles south of Gary.
