Car Strikes New Jersey Pair in Elkhart County Crash, One Dead

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) _ Police say one of two people from New Jersey struck by a car in northern Indiana has died from his injuries.
 
Elkhart Assistant Police Chief Laura Koch says 66-year-old Darryl Foyuth of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, died at South Bend Memorial Hospital after being struck by the car Monday night.
 
Koch says 60-year-old Maryann Foyuth, also of Lawrenceville, was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The relationship between the Foyuths wasn't clear.
 
Koch says the two were struck on an Elkhart street by a car driven by 57-year-old Valerie Neal of Elkhart.
 
The investigation into the incident was continuing.
 
Elkhart is 15 miles east of South Bend.
