Clarksville Judge Resigning after Discipline

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A southern Indiana judge says he will step down at the end of the year in compliance with a state Supreme Court disciplinary order after he pleaded guilty to drunken driving.

Clarksville Town Court Judge Mickey Weber tells the News and Tribune and The Courier-Journal that he isn't contesting the order and that leaving office is in the best interests of the Ohio River community.

Weber is expected to tender his resignation to the Clarksville Town Council during its next meeting Monday.

Louisville police arrested Weber in January, and the judge self-reported the arrest to the Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications. The commission filed a misconduct charge against him in September. The Supreme Court filed its disciplinary order Friday.
