Megabus Among Vehicles In Indiana Toll Road Pileup

HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) _ A Megabus is among several vehicles caught up in a pileup on the Indiana Toll Road near Chicago.

The (Munster) Times reports an initial crash and two subsequent crashes early Tuesday afternoon closed all westbound lanes of the Toll Road near the Illinois state line.

The Times reports injuries have occurred, but the extent of the injuries wasn't immediately known.

Megabus passenger Jocelyn Lopez tells WBBM she doesn't believe anyone on the Megabus was hurt. She says the bus driver was braking when another vehicle cut in front of it.

Megabus spokesman Sean Hughes says the company is aware of the crash but is still gathering details. He says the bus was traveling to Chicago from Indianapolis.

It's the second Megabus crash in Indiana this month and third since October.
