Manufacturing Leading Hoosier Job Creation

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): A Hoosier employment expert is spotlighting job creation in Indiana in 2015.
Department of Workforce Development Spokesman Joe Frank says based on the 50,000 private sector jobs created in the state in 2014, manufacturing, professional and business services and trade, transportation and logistics may continue to lead job growth in the state this year.

Frank says about half of the jobs created last year were in the manufacturing sector. He says professional and business services include: attorneys, accountants, bookkeepers and technical services. Frank says transportation and logistics are growing partly due to growth in trade and retail.

He says the Department of Workforce Development provides training and education services for those seeking jobs in those areas. He says it‘s too early to forecast exactly what 2015 will look like in terms of job creation, but he says the 2014 trend is encouraging.
