LaPorte County School Placed on Lockdown after Bullet Found

NEW CARLISLE, Ind. (AP) _ Police say a northern Indiana high school was placed on lockdown after a bullet was found in a classroom
 
LaPorte County Sheriff's Department Capt. Mike Kellems says students New Prairie High School were kept in their classrooms Tuesday while the building is searched.
 
Kellems says there was no indication of an active threat and he doesn't believe the students were placed in danger.
 
The school is located about 15 miles west of South Bend.
