Slain Officer to Receive Congressional Badge of Bravery

 INDIANAPOLIS (AP): An Indianapolis police officer killed in the line of duty is being honored with an award bestowed upon first responders who have shown exceptional bravery.
 
       Officer Rod Bradway will be named a recipient of the Congressional Badge of Bravery on Friday afternoon at the Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis. His widow, Jamie, and other family members will accept the award on his behalf.
 
       Several Indiana lawmakers and representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will honor Bradway at the ceremony.
 
       Bradway was fatally shot in September 2013 while responding to a domestic disturbance.
