GARY, Ind. (AP) – Authorities are investigating after a northwestern Indiana woman was found shot to death inside her apartment over the weekend. 

Police Lt. Thomas Pawlak says the body of 23-year-old Breona Major was discovered by a friend who went to visit her Saturday night. Authorities suspect Major, whose from Gary, had been dead for about 12 hours before her body was found. 

The Times (http://bit.ly/1Kn64bQ ) reports the Lake County coroner's office says Major died from multiple gunshot wounds. 

Anyone with information about Major's death is asked to call authorities. Further information about the homicide case wasn't released.
