INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The Indiana State Board of Education could vote this week on setting the minimum scores that students need to pass the ISTEP standardized tests they took last spring.
The board announced Monday that it will consider establishing the ISTEP pass-fail marks during a meeting on Wednesday. That's two weeks after the board put off a vote because of questions over potential differences in difficulty between the test's online and paper versions.
Board vice chairwoman Sarah O'Brien says outside experts believe adding a few bonus points to scores for the online version will equal them out.
The state is months behind the typical schedule for giving schools and parents the results of the ISTEP exam. More than 400,000 students in grades three through eight took the test last spring.
