Gas Prices Going Up in Fort Wayne Due To Refinery Issues

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Be on the lookout for rising gas prices.

Analysts with GasBuddy.com say that gas prices will be going up 15 to 30 cents per gallon during the next week for drivers in not just our area, but the entire Midwest and Great Lakes because BP's refinery in Whiting, Indiana experienced issues. The problems were with its largest crude distillation unit, which is responsible for refining over half of the refinery's oil capacity.

Our listeners tell us gas prices have already shot up as much as 30 cents per gallon at Fort Wayne gas stations as a result of the refinery issues.
