WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): A South Bend man has been arrested following an investigation into the theft of a lawn mower from a Warsaw business, according to law enforcement officials.
Authorities said the lawn mower was stolen during the overnight hours of May 18. Surveillance video reportedly showed a vehicle pulling a trailer onto the property, where a man exited the vehicle, loaded the mower onto the trailer and left the scene.
According to investigators, an Indiana State Police investigation later led to the recovery of the stolen lawn mower during a traffic stop in South Bend on May 28.
Police identified the suspect as 25-year-old Jeremiah Deandre Dockery of South Bend.
Officials said Dockery was taken into custody and extradited to the Kosciusko County Jail on June 9 on theft-related allegations connected to the case.
Investigators indicated additional charges may be forthcoming as authorities examine whether Dockery may be linked to similar incidents in surrounding counties.
The case remains under investigation.
Authorities emphasize that an arrest is an accusation, and Dockery is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
