DNR Announces Environmental Grants

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne is getting a $10,000 environmental grant. 

The Department of Natural Resources' Division of Forestry is awarding Fort Wayne $10,000 for tree-planting projects that target water quality, flooding, and other issues. Churubusco is getting $4,000 for a similar project, while Elkhart will get $20,000 for tree inventory and analysis. 

The grants are part of a total $135,000 distributed to 12 cities, towns and non-profits for urban forestry projects.
