Fate of truck and rail hub in southwest Allen County to be decided Friday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) The future of a proposed truck hub in southwest Allen County will be decided Friday.

The Allen County Commission has scheduled a vote for Friday's 10 a.m. meeting at Citizen's Square on the giant truck and rail transfer facility on Winters Road near the GM plant.

The Journal-Gazette is reporting the vote is to either approve or reject the Allen County Plan Commission's rezoning of the 87 acre tract of land from agricultural to business, industry, and technology.

The purpose of the facility is to aid vehicle component delivery to the GM plant.

Opponents say the facility goes against the county's comprehensive plan and the rezoning wouldn't be suitable for the facility.
