IPFW Faculty Senate makes own proposal for university’s future

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): IPFW’s faculty is resisting a proposal to split the college into two separate entities.

The IPFW Faculty Senate has sent a letter to the trustees of Indiana and Purdue Universities the two schools that operate the joint campus, with their own recommendations in the wake of a study last month that said IPFW should split into an Indiana University medical school and a Purdue campus.

Our partners in news at 21Alive report that the letter asks trustees to give them more time to be successful as a “metropolitan” university, a designation they got last year.

The initial study’s suggestion has received swift resistance from both the IPFW Chancellor and staff in general.
