WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): There’s a lot of money in the waters of Kosciusko County.

A new study by the Center for Lakes and Streams at Grace College says lake-specific and lake-related business activity and tax revenue pumps more than $313-million into local communities annually.

According to Inside Indiana Business, the economy in communities like Warsaw is tied so closely that a shift in the water quality of any of the county’s more than 100 lakes could either “greatly enhance” or “severely harm” many businesses.

Many companies that responded to the study said if there were no lakes in the county, or if the quality of available lakes was poor, they’d relocate.
