Huntertown man killed after being struck by vehicle

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A 24-year-old bicyclist was killed Monday night after being struck by a car.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office said Nicholas James Mruk, Huntertown, died from blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle crash. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

At about 7:52 p.m., crews were called to Hand Road. Police say a man was riding a bike when a vehicle struck him. The vehicle that hit the man drove away. Another vehicle stopped to take the bike, but then also drove away, according to witnesses.

He is the 26th traffic fatality victim in Allen County this year.

The crash is still under investigation.
