Fort Wayne rates low in “Best Places for Veterans to Live” study

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Friday is Veteran’s Day, but Fort Wayne is not doing well in a study on the Best Places for Veterans to Live.

WalletHub reports that the Summit City is actually in the bottom half overall of the 100 most populated cities across the US when it comes to things like veteran unemployment (67th), veteran income (45th) and job growth (66th).

461,000 American veterans are unemployed.

The study reports that Fort Wayne comes in 38th place in the percentage of veterans living in poverty, and is 26th on the list for crime rate.

WOWO News reached out this week to the Allen County Veterans Service office for comment, but received no reply.
