FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Plans detailing a downtown arena for Fort Wayne have been revealed.

The News-Sentinel reports the arena, called an “event center” in the plans, will feature restaurants on the first floor and luxury suites on the third floor of the $85-million facility. The building would have the capacity to seat about 6,000 people and would have an elevated walkway connection to the Grand Wayne Convention Center.

The paper cites designs by Sinks Combs Dethlefs Architects of Denver, Colorado.

At the moment a study is underway to determine if there are enough funding sources to sustain the arena, should it actually be built.
