With the 2018 Winter Olympics kicking off this past weekend from Pyeongchang, South Korea, Ball State University sent a group of students to cover the 2 and a half week long games. Samantha Johnson, a journalism student at the University says, as expected, South Korea is very technology driven.

Just in 4 days at the Olympics, the students have already gotten some big hands on experience, interviewing 17-year old snowboarder Red Gerard, who became the first Olympic Gold Medal winner for the United States at the games

The students also got the opportunity to talk with freestyle skier Nick Goepper yesterday, who is the only Hoosier Olympian in the Winter games. Goepper, who was born in Fort Wayne, resides in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He does not compete until Sunday.
