INDIANA, (WOWO) – Uber was issued a multi-state settlement following a 2016 data breach, and Indiana drivers will be receiving a share.

During the breach, hackers received information about Uber drivers, including their driver’s license numbers.

Uber was able to track down the hackers and insists the information was deleted, but the company failed to comply with an Indiana law that requires them to notify affected Indiana residents.

Instead, the company waited to until November of the following year to report on the breach.

In the settlement, Uber agreed to pay $148-million to the states; Indiana will receive $1,495,450.00.

$752,400 will be distributed to affected drivers, which breaks down to roughly $100 per driver.
