Airport Planning Runway Project

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A $14 million dollar runway project is moving ahead at Fort Wayne International Airport.

Allen County Commission approved rebuilding the airport's 8,000 foot auxiliary runway.

The project is expected to begin in the spring. It includes nearly $13 million in federal aid. The state of Indiana is also contributing about $674,000.

Joe Marana, the airports director of operations and facilities, says air traffic will not be impacted.
