Albers Sentenced to 67 Years

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man accused of killing a woman in a north side cemetery will serve decades for the crime.

In October, Quinn Albers killed Katherine Gick and abused her corpse. Friday he was sentenced to 67 years in prison for the crime.

Gick's badly burned body was found by workers at Catholic Cemetery. Albers was captured running from the cemetery. Albers said he had used bath salts and suffered mental illness.

The 21-year-old was found competent for trial, but later pleaded guilty under a plea deal in August. He admitted to the the charges of murder and abuse of a corpse, while rape and another murder charge were dropped.
