Ball State Dormitory Built to be Eco-Friendly

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) _ Ball State University has a newly renovated eco-friendly residence hall.

The (Muncie) Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/1WmVp7m ) that  the Botsford/Swinford renovation was a nearly $36 million project. It includes energy-efficient revolving doors that prevent drafts, sunlit lounges, water-bottle filling stations and geothermal heating and cooling. The building also will be cleaned with a toxin-free cleaning product.

The residence hall has about 575 students. It caters to emerging media and communications students.

Ball State University President Paul Ferguson says the renovations embody the school's goals of being student-centered and engaged with the community.
