Alcohol Suspected in Fulton County Fatal Crash

WAUSEON, OH (WOWO)  The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Defiance Post is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Fulton County.

According to investigators, troopers were called to County Road 25 near County Road W around 6:13 a.m. for a report of a vehicle submerged in Brush Creek.

The crash investigation determined that a 2009 Dodge Avenger was traveling south on County Road 25 when it went off the east side of the roadway, striking a guardrail end and bridge abutment before overturning into the creek.

The driver and only occupant, 21-year-old Preston Boundy of Defiance, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fulton County Coroner’s Office.

It is unknown if Boundy was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol impairment is suspected. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
