Alleged Shooter Makes Court Appearance

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The man who is accused of shooting at a Fort Wayne police officer last Friday made his first court appearance this morning.  Daniel Spells, 33, of Fort Wayne was charged with attempted murder after he was tackled and arrested by that same officer, who was  praised for not using lethal force against the suspect.  Neither of the men was seriously injured during the confrontation.  Spells is being held without bond while in the Allen County jail while the case against him continues.
