Another Man Sentenced in a Steuben Murder Case

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Closing the book on a Steuben County murder. A Fremont man was sentenced Monday for obstruction of justice in the July 2013 case.


19-year old Lucas Baxla was sentenced to 18 months for getting rid of a gun that was used to shoot and kill Ruben Sanchez Jr. of Munice.


Two others involved in the case have also been sentenced.


In June, 19-year old Tyler Biggs was sentenced to 15 years for conspiracy to commit murder. Biggs admitted he handed the gun to 28-year old Mark Hines who later shot and killed Sanchez at Jimmerson Lake. Hines was given a 45-year sentence for the crime last fall.
