Anthis Career Center is Changing Its Name

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Anthis Career Center is changing its name to the FWCS Career Academy at Anthis as well as its look to go with the new name. According to a press release, the new name and look better reflect the programs offered while continuing to honor former FWCS Superintendent Bill C. Anthis.

Career and Technical Education is not the vocational education it used to be,” FWCS Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson said. “Today we are integrating specialized career training with challenging academic learning, which means that our programs have increased in rigor and relevance to the needs of today’s employers.”

The FWCS Career Academy at Anthis serves 22 high schools in Northeastern Indiana. It offers 11 updated programs that prepare students for post-secondary education or immediate employment after high school.
