Approaching Storm Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning

SYRACUSE, Ind. (WOWO): It’s coming. The National Weather Service has upgraded the approaching system from a winter storm watch to a warning.

The warning is in effect from 2 a.m. Wednesday morning through 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

In Indiana, the warning includes Allen, Adams, Blackford, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Noble, LaGrange, Steuben, Wabash. Whitley, and Wells. In Ohio, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert are impacted.

This storm could pack a punch of five to nine inches in northern Indiana, and around three to five inches around Fort Wayne and south.

Forecasters say a mix of rain, sleet and snow is expect to zero in on the area early Wednesday and then change to all snow through the morning. You can expect blowing and drifting snow.

And if that’s not enough forecasters say, the melting snow will push river levels higher through the week.
