Arrest Made in Fatal Beating of Richmond Teen

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) _ A Richmond youth has been arrested in connection with the fatal beating of a teenager in that city.
 
Richmond Police Capt. James Branum tells the Palladium-Item  a 16-year-old was taken into custody after meeting with detectives Tuesday morning. The youth faced a preliminary charge of murder.
 
Seventeen-year-old Caleb Woosley was found dead in an alley on May 18.
 
Branum says investigators went to the suspect's home Tuesday and asked him to come in and talk to officers. He says the youth came in with his mother.
 
Branum declined to provide any other details surrounding the arrest. He says more arrests are expected.
 
Branum says Indiana law provides for an automatic waiver to adult court for juveniles charged with murder.
 
Richmond is about 65 miles east of Indianapolis.
