Attorney Disbarred For Allegedly Taking Money

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne based attorney has been disbarred for allegedly taking money that wasn't his.

The Journal Gazette reports Steven Ouellette was already suspended from the practice of law since last August. He's accused of taking money from his client during a bankruptcy case in 2005. In June of 2013, a trustee became aware of missing money and discovered the missing check in question. It's reported Ouellette promised to repay the money, but the check bounced, according to court documents.

Ouellette was previously suspended in 1994 for making false statements to a tribunal and 2003 for failing to send paperwork for his client.
