Auburn woman killed in I-69 crash

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A woman from Auburn was killed in a head-on crash Saturday night on I-69 in Steuben County.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. at mile marker 340, on the bridge near Ashley. An Angola man was driving a pickup northbound on I-69 when he drove onto some ice, losing control of his vehicle and crossing into the southbound lane, hitting the woman’s vehicle head-on.

The woman, 22-year-old Alyssa Bizefski, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash is under investigation.
